I ended the last post saying I hope the week stays busy but unfortunately it was not. I had one wisdom tooth pulled the week before. It was by far the most painless dental procedure ever. But for some reason the healing process took a longer time. I felt like there was this sour taste in my mouth as well as my tongue and throat felt completely swollen. So due to not feeling well, i wasnt really much for going out around town. Usually I will atleast venture out to the grocery store to pick up some fresh fruit or veggies, or even go to a cafe to read, but i stayed confined to my apt complex.
I finally decided to start working out. I realized that i have gained way too much weight over the past year and half. I think it has been 8 or 9 months since i have exercised, so this was shaping up to be a very painful process. I found a few strength training regimens online, one good one was on oprahs web page, another on ballys web page. I am actually following the one on bally's page. The first few days the running was very tiring, i felt like after 12 or 13 minutes i was about to collapse...so i had to really push myself to atleast do a run/walk combo for 20 minutes. I figure if i can keep up 4 to 5 times a week for another 2 weeks, I should start getting back into a process which wont feel like im killing myself.
This week was very slow. I spent my days alone, and then my evenings were alone as well. Khuram had to work late 2 nights this week, and 2 nights he had meetings. So this brings me to V-day. Yes on valentines day my husband had a meeting and came home late, so late i had to tape LOST to watch it with him. I was chatting online with a friend, and she felt pity for me that he had a meeting and would be home late. I really don't care for it. I feel like Vday gives guys an excuse not to be romantic for the rest of the year. I mean why can't guys/girls think out side the box if they do decide to celebrate it. I mean is flowers/chocolate/and a romantic dinner the only thing people can think of to do on that day. What ever happened to spontaneity?!!

Finally a car
Last weekend Khuram & I went to go test drive the Acura. I absolutely loved it. I am really excited about getting a different car. We still are not sure if we will get a new car or a used car. Ofcourse I am hoping for the new one. Growing up I really never had a car of my own. We always shared cars in the family. But they weren't the most glamorous cars either: first it was the station wagon, then the mini van, and finally the mystique. The mystique wasn't the best driving car for Michigan weather. There were several occasions I remember trying to hit the breaks, and i kept sliding or losing control of the car. Thank god i never got into an accident b/c of the bad weather.
But back to buying a car now. Right now we have a 2 door honda accord that is a manual. The problem is that I can't drive it. I took lessons to try to learn, but i never really got the hang of it. Problem is that we live in the city and everything is on a ramp, so i get way to nervous driving up hill. Only a few girls I know can drive a manual, so why not me? I tried, but i am really slow on changing gears. Part of me feels like a failure. If i could have just learned it would have saved me over a year of being frustrated.
We also checked out St. Lawrence Market. I have gone a few times, but everytime I have gone alone so it was really nice when Khuram suggested that we go. I just love the atmosphere of this place. We started of on the main floor by the pastries. Just the smell of fresh bread and muffins just reminds me of home. We tried some honeys around the world, made our way through homemade salsa areas, and up to the fresh seafood area. My husband was craving fish and chips so we stopped for a bit to eat. And the best score was the fresh pasta place. Has anyone else tried the 3 color sauce they've been doing?? It is fantastic. It's mainly tomato sauce with a garlic alfredo and pesto sauce nicely layered on top. May not sound all that great, but trust me it is fantastic.
I just wish the rest of the week stays this busy

Another weekend comes and goes
This weekend flew by as usual. And as usual i really didn't do much. The highlight of the weekend was that i got to see my sister in law. Sunday was a bigger bust. I was expecting to watch the superbowl on our new hdtv, but my husband had the guys come over to watch the game. I really didn't feel like being the only girl, so I decided to head out. The streets were practically empty. So i decided to go see a chic flick. I haven't seen one in the theater in the longest time. But I never thought after I got married I would be seeing movies alone again. It was bit depressing for some reason. The theater was very crowded, mostly groups of women, and several couples.
So before I got married if I went to go see a movie alone it's because I want to see the movie. Usually there are a number of people that I can go to see a movie with - but ever try to get a group of more than three to agree on one movie? So I usually have to settle on a movie I really didn't want to see. So if I go alone, I can guarantee myself that I'll see the movie I want to. I always thought after marriage...atleast my husband would be obliged to settle and see a movie once in a while with me.
Anyways back to the movie. I finally got to see 27 dresses. I went in with low expectations, so I was pleasantly pleased with the movie. There was just the right amount of sweet stuff and humor, which most romantic comedies try to do but don't deliver.

A Winter Wonderland
I thought since i had extra time on my hands these days, I would try a blog. I decided to keep the name of the blog empty till I figured out a good name. It’s an awful lot of pressure, coming up with a first blog entry. You’re trying for witty and wise, so people will want to come back, but most days I am really not much of either. I don't consider myself a good writer so don't expect this to be anything really brilliant, although I will make sure to try to update it.
So i guess this is the part where I share my random thoughts for the day....
Winter is cranking up around here! Canada is brutally cold in the winter. Yesterday Toronto had one massive winter storm. I usually am not a fan of the snow and cold, but yesterday was different. For the first time in a long time, I felt like i wanted to go out and play in the snow. I was remembering what it was like in our childhoods going outside and playing in the snow, having snow ball fights, and ofcourse making a snowman. But alas, living in downtown Toronto, i really couldnt go outside and make a snow angel. Yes there are plenty of patches of parks covered in snow, but I'm kinda scared people let their dogs go lose in those areas...so its really not an area you want to be in.
Anyways, that was my first blog attempt. But I do thank you for letting me share. And I hope you’ll leave a line or two of your own.
